Chemically they are an aliphatic polyurea, and the aliphatic backbone is what makes them UV stable, so the floor keeps its gloss and its color where a standard epoxy clear turns the shade of weak tea within a year or two of daylight exposure.
• Solid Color Epoxy Coatings — Solid color epoxy is the workhorse of resinous flooring and the correct answer far more often than the decorative systems suggest. It is pigmented 100% solids epoxy rolled at ten to twenty mils over a mechanically prepared slab, and it delivers a hard, non-porous, uniform, cleanable floor at the lowest cost per square foot of any real system.
